User permissions necessary for new company

In Dynamics 365 Financials, Business Edition, if you create a new company from the Cronus trial company and you have your user with Super permission set, no company, do you need to assign any other permissions to access the new company?

I thought I saw somewhere that you had to assign distinct permissions for all new companies but can't locate anything to that fact now.

Please explain.

    Hello Mary,

If you have SUPER with no company specified this means you have SUPER access to the entire tenant, all current and future companies.  You should be able to do anything and access everything.  It should not be necessary to setup any additional permissions.

    Thanks,

    Chris

This is for a new client.  Trying to create a new company from the Cronus one.  My user has super permission with no company. When I go to my settings and click on company, I do not see the option to create a new company.

According to what you stated, I should not need any other permission set, correct?   Why wouldn't I see the "create new company"?

    Hello,

You need to create a new company from the 'Companies' window.  Use the search button to find the 'Companies' window and you will have more options.

    Thanks,

    Chris

That's just it...I can't create a new company from there either.  I can only copy an existing company.

One thing I noticed also is that in my local demo tenant, my Cronus company has a completed setup status.  This client's does not.

Could something have happened during their initial install?

    Hello Mary,

Can you try another user?  Are you logging in with Delegated Admin rights, or a full user?  I don't think it matters, just throwing out ideas.

I just tested with a user with SUPER only (blank company) and it's working.  You may want to double-check the permissions.  I haven't tried this on the latest update... what version are you if you look at the System Information window?

    Thanks,

    Chris

Also check the 'Company Information' window and make sure the user experience is set to 'SUITE'.

    Thanks,

    Chris

I tried copying a company (my only option) and I get an error  "you do not have the following permissions on TableData company: Insert"

Yes, the experience is set to Suite

I do not have credentials to other users, unfortunately.  I do have global admin rights, My user didn't have any licenses assigned so I assigned Dynamics 365 for financials for IWs (not sure what that one is but there were over 9000 left so I figured I could use it).  That didn't change anything.

    Hello Mary,

That is the trial license, if the trial is expired then you would run into permission errors as well.

    Thanks,

    Chris

the client has a license.  I just don't want to take one of their licences for my use.

Can you tell me what the product license should be listed as?  All I see is Team members Business Edition.  Is that the problem?
