I am looking for the ability to use bar code scanning with Field Service Mobile (Dynamics 365). is it doable? how?
I have been demoing the mobile app with Resco’s Woodford solution up to now but knowing that MS will stop supporting with this app in a near future, how do we migrate the scanning feature to the new mobile app.

We're currently configuring the Dynamics 365 Field Service Mobile App (Power App) for a customer. It seems as though the barcode scanning function is only available on Entities enabled in the Global Search.
In other words, if I enable the Product entity, I can scan a product barcode and my mobile resource can then see if the barcode matches the master product.
HOWEVER, the scanning I don't think is available when you want to use it to add a Work Order Product. This is relatively problematic in our scenario.
To add, we've also enabled the Work Order Product entity as a global search entity, but this doesn't enable the scanning feature on the Work Order when you want to scan a product to add on a Work Order.
Indeed... I'll play with it and see how it could be used by a technician that does not have time to look for tiny icon ;)

Have you looked at docs.microsoft.com/.../mobile-power-app-configure ? Use the binocular icon from the top toolbar and select Categorized Search, this should give you a barcode button.
