Do we need more than Power BI?

Hi,

Replacing standard dashboards with Power BI is one thing - but how do we do proper trend analysis without a data warehouse?

For example, say I want to plot the number of active Work Orders that existed on the first day of every month. You can't just draw on active Work Orders because a standard view will represent a Work order only once. If the Work Order was active for several months then it wont be counted for each of these months.

In the 'old days' this was enough of a business need to justify a data warehouse that stored snapshots of data.

But Analytics for Field Service seems to take snapshots. Am I right? Can this be mastered to take snapshots required for reporting?

So what is the modern approach to solve this trend reporting? Does Power BI have tools to setup snapshotting and store the data in its own data warehouse?

I have the same question (0)
