Thanks for this. Was pulling my hair out on why web services was not working.

By default, these checkboxes are turned off.

i checked all that, all protocols are enabled. i also tried activating sql browser. did not work. but thx for the suggestions.

i checked again the settings of the "soap service" in the nav service mgmt. tool and found out that the "enable soap services" flag was not set. :-(

I have experienced that SQL browser, Named Pipes and TCP/IP protocol in "SQL server Configuration Manager" should be enabled. Try this and please reply if this works.

    RE: web service: connection refused

    hi,

the nav service started up correctly, windows client works correct.

i entered the url in the web browser and got th error err_connection_refused.

    no login prompt were presented.

all tests run on same server, localhost.

i've checked eventviewer. there are some entries according SPNs.

could be a problem with missing SPN.

    tested urls:

    localhost/.../services

    localhost/.../services

    thx for help.

Please provide more information. At which scenario did you get this error?

Did the service start up correctly?

Did you enter the URL in a browser and then received this error directly, or were you prompted to sign in when entering the URL?
