Import CSV file from FTP to NAV Tables

Hi 

I have a client requirement to import the CSV file from FTP to NAV tables and this should be automated using Job Queues. I got some idea through surfing the internet but I have following queries.

1) Do I have to download the CSV file from FTP to my local machine before uploading into NAV?

2) Should I use staging table in XMLport to upload the CSV data and then to copy that information to Main table.

3) How to download the CSV file from FTP using Date modified of that file (have any code for this).

4) Error handling (if we have any validation issue in CSV file).

Please advice.

    Hello,

    Yes you need to download the CSV file from FTP before uploading, either you can use staging table or upload it directly it depends on your requirement if you want process or validate data then staging table is a good idea that is how you can handle errors.
