Associate existing AX customer with an external identity id (new identity)

Hi,

Im trying to figure out how to associate an existing AX customer with a new external identity provider. Is it possible to do this association from the AX web UI?

    Christian, did you succeeded in doing that? I am struggling with the very same issue and I cannot find any solution.

    Unfortunately no, I did not find a way to fix the associations using the UI. Then again I don't really know the D365 UI that well. We ended up fixing the associations in the db. I'm not sure exactly what tables where involved but start with RETAILEXTERNALIDTOASYNCCUSTOMERMAP and work your way through the relations.

    Thank you Christian, I already saw that table and the (mostly) homonym one RETAILEXTERNALIDTOCUSTOMERMAP but I was hoping to do not have to "hack" the system inserting data directly there. It is good to be known that someone did it successfully though.

    Hello Christian, xtoik, 
    we're running into issues where D365 e-commerce customers aren't being linked to their external IDs like they should be, and I'm hoping your experience can help us figure out a workaround until we sort this out.
    Right now, after syncing, some customers are not being "attached" to their external IDs. In the RETAILEXTERNALIDTOASYNCCUSTOMERMAP, everything seems in order for the correct async customer, and there's a CustAccount for them in the RETAILASYNCCUSTOMER table. However, the RETAILEXTERNALIDTOCUSTOMERMAP entry is missing. Based on your experience, do you think we could manually insert the entries into RETAILEXTERNALIDTOASYNCCUSTOMERMAP? Would this be enough for the scale unit to correctly display the real custaccount to the user, instead of the async one?
