Posting of Picking List Journal for a line item

Is there a way we can only post picking list for only one item if the Picking list contains five lines (different items) .. I could not find a way to do so.. If i try to post the whole journal gets posted. Other way is to delete the rest of lines and add them into a new journal and post the old one. Is there a better and simple way to post just one line of the whole journal..

Thanks

    Hi Sree,

There are (at least) two types of picking list in AX. One related to Sales orders, the other related to production orders. Since you also mention the word 'Journal', I assume you mean Production order picking lists. If not, you can probably ignore this answer!

First thought is that perhaps you can use 'Automatic BOM Consumption' to get the lines that you actually want in the first place.

If that's not appropriate, then Yes, you can delete the lines you don't want to post, and create them in a new Picking list journal. On the Picking list journal form, you could use the option 'Picking list' -> 'Create lines' to help you create lines in this new journal.

Alternatively, you could ensure that the lines you do not want to post will error in some way. For example, if location or batch are mandatory on your raw material items, you could leave those fields blank on the lines you do not want to post. Then, when you post the Journal, tick the 'Transfer all posting errors to a new journal' tick box. This should ensure the line(s) you want to post are posted, and the lines that errored are moved to a new picking list journal.
