Dynamics 365 Quick campaign issue

We are currently experiencing an issue with sending appointments to marketing lists in Dynamics 365.

When we create a quick campaign to send an appointment to a marketing list, the campaign sends and each marketing list member receives an invite in their Outlook calendar as expected. The problem is that the Dynamics user who sent the campaign receives a calendar invite for every member of the marketing list in their Outlook calendar. This can be over 100 people.

I’ve included a screen shot below to show what is happening when I send a quick campaign to a test marketing list of 4 people:

As you can see there are 4 invites in my calendar, one for each of the marketing list members.

Could you let me know what we need to do to stop this from happening please.

    Hi Leah,

We are using Dynamics 365 customer service enterprise and also the Dynamics 365 app for Outlook (latest version). We are also syncing data between D365 and users Outlook accounts.

Is that what you needed to know?

    Hi Leah,

Thanks for posting the links, however, they all show how to 'stop' calendar invites being sent to marketing list recipients, where as we 'want' to send an invite.

The problem is that along with an invite being sent to each member, one is also being sent to the organiser (owner of the quick campaign) for every invite sent to the list. So in the example above, the marketing list has 4 members and as you can see, an invite has been sent to the organiser for every invite that is sent out, resulting in 4 invites in the organisers calendar (one for every marketing list member).

So in summary, we want a single invite to go to each marketing list member and the organiser.

    Hi Moneypenny,

Unfortunately, it seems that you can’t stop it.

In fact, when you a quick campaign to send an appointment to a marketing list, it will create as many appointments as marketing list members

And the ‘Required’ field of each appointment will be filled just one member, not make all members in the one appointment.

So you'll see the same number of invitations as appointments on the calendar.

    Hi Leah,

Thanks very much for all your help with this issue. I suppose that at least I now know that it's not a bug.

It does seem a bit of an oversight by Microsoft though, why give you the option of sending appointment invites to a marketing list but having a group invite function.

PS: I've marked your answer as verified.
