This is a discussion topic which is already mentioned in the ideas forum, but I think it is very important to keep mentioning.

Emails are at the core of every marketing tool and should be working great, but the email editor just doesn't allow for contemporary good looking templates that work on all devices. I'm glad that we can now have sections split into groups, but nesting is still not available.
Also, even standard templates don't seem to render quite right and we are doomed to hacking around in the html editor. For example, the template below is made from scratch with the latest update (so with the sections in groups) and you can clearly see that the padding on the right is not working right on multiple devices except for a normal outlook 2016 client/webversion.
Dynamics marketing is one of the most expensive marketing tools out there, but their email editor just can't compete with competitors like mailchimp, market and hubspot.I really hope someone at Microsoft can clear things up/tell us about the roadmap for the email editor, because this is just not acceptable anymore.
good: as it is supposed to be
Bad 1: (ios 13 ipad padding)
Bad 2: (header padding ios 13)
This is with new ios versions. If we are looking at older version/outlook 2013 and older, the issues become even worse.
Anybody know if it is possible to fix these padding bugs?
And more importantly: what problems are you running into with creating emails/what features would be nice to have?
Hi,
I also run constantly into the Outlook issue that you are mentioning. Do you know how I have to adjust the HTML for my emails to make it work for Outlook?
Thanks!
Hi
We are also trying to build the best templates... but working in this since several years, whatever builder I've been using, the behaviour of emails depending of email clients is always a bit different.
Our ONE RULE to follow, internally when we build a template, is: The simplest it is, the better it is... avoiding bad layout in some Outlooks and other clients.
We are rarely using any predefined template. Instead, we usually go directly in the HTML code.
I know it's not helping... ;-)
Hello!
I am glad to finally find a chain with someone expressing concerns about the builder.
I have been trying to get the email builder to work properly and like you have been running into constant display issues upon delivery. I have noticed the issue with the padding, but so far have no fix.
I have also found other issues, such as display problems with multiple versions of Outlook, from mobile (iOS + Android), to desktop. Essentially multiple elements break, such as buttons flattening height-wise, images appearing distorted and stretched (dispite w * h being specified), and multi-column layouts (ex, an image next to text) just break and won't display on outlook mobile.
Have you been able to get any emails to work in Outlook? I largely work b2b and my target demographic uses Outlook the most, so these issues essentially make the builder impossible to use.
