Add TenantID to Client installation configuration file

Our idea is to send the Dynamics NAV 2016 installation DVD to install the client locally on each machine. When I choose to install the Client, I saved the configuration so that when I install it on another machine I can choose the option to "Load Configuration" found under the Custom installation option. This makes it so I can access the server and server instance I need, but it doesn't let me configure which Tenant ID to use. I've already tried placing the Tenant ID after the Server Instance name to be something like DynamicsNAV90/TENANTID but that does not work when trying to connect. It still places it in the address bar like it should look like when connecting to a tenant, but it doesn't let me connect.

Is there a way I can configure this, or will I need to go into each ClientUserSettings.config file and put the Tenant ID there for each computer?

Thanks,

Nick

    Maneesha,

The error occurs when typing in the server address when you append the tenant ID on the server instance name in the configuration when installing the Windows client. I want to be able to have the tenant ID in the installation configuration XML we can save when installing on a different work station.

Since I don't think it is possible, how can I go about setting the tenant ID to be the correct one without having to manually type it in for each workstation? I know I can use a batch file to replace the ClientUserSettings.config found in C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Microsoft Dynamics NAV\90, but I want to avoid that if there is an easier way.

    Regards,

    Nick

So what you are saying is that if we have a multi-tenant environment, there is no way to configure it unless we go into the ClientUserSettings.config or if we change the server address manually when it fails to connect? How would you configure it using a bat file?

    Regards,

    Nick
