Hello All,

My customer has a question: Is there any limitation on number of emails that are sent from Dynamics 365 CRM.

Please let me know if any of you have information related to this "Number of Emails".

Appreciate your help!

Thanks,

Manoj

    Hi Manoj,

If you are using server side sync, I don't believe there is a limit.  We had one customer using an ISV to send about 1 million emails a month but the ISV was limited to how many they can send at a time.   So are you  looking for overall limit or all at once.   Lots of caveats when sending lots of emails at once and Exchange can be more the bottleneck then D365

    Hello,

I would like to revisit this question.

Is there any Microsoft documentation that details email volume limits? I'm looking for confirmation of daily or hourly email send limits in campaigns or journeys in Dynamics 365 CRM.

    Thanks for any help,

    Lynn

    Lynn,

Hit this one today the hard way.  If you are using Exchange Online, which most typically are, there is a sending limit of 10,000 recipients per day.

    docs.microsoft.com/.../exchange-online-limits

If you are using D365 for Marketing then this would be different obviously because the Customer Journeys use a separate send path.

    Hi.

For anyone having this problem, we had the same issue with 10,000 emails per day with Exchange Online but we used a workaround for this.

We had a primary account (notifications@yourdomain.com) that reached the limit. In the exchange admin center, we created a secondary account (notifications2@yourdomain.com), and we gave "send as" and "send on behalf" permissions for the primary account on the secondary account, then proceed to set in D365 F&O the users we wanted to use this secondary account via users preferences, and it worked.

Now we have some "heavy" users working a dedicated email account and the rest of the users with other account. I know this probably isn't the best solution but it got us out of big problem because we needed to send those emails in the day.
