Third party sales integration with MSD Nav 20009R2

Posted on by 70
Hi Experts,
in our company we are running Nav 2009R2,recently my company purchased small scale POS system.
I have developed one codeunit to post item journals from POS system(using sql script, i am taking item sales to staging table from there i am posting item journal in Nav)
Now requirement is to post GL also automatically.
I have made some homework and understood the LS retail flow(statement posting for GL impact and also i build 3 stagings tables for transaction header, trans, laes entry and payment entry same like LS Retail to fetching data from pos database).
so i will use staging table to write general journal to post in nav, but i am wondering where to start how to build the posting routine.
i have cracked same for inventory using item journal.
Being technical, it very hard to understand GL related things and also which is very painful area if any thing goes wrong.
So here is my questions:
1.is it good to post sales journal for pos sales(i will create 1 cash customer and other credit customers)
2.transaction wise do i need to post sales or day statement wise like LSRetail flow

    - It is a good practice to create a dummy customer (retail physical person) to be used for booking the sales and payments received.

    - Transaction wise it is useful to book it by Z-reports (that is, for each shift for each cash register), divided between types of payment - cash, cards, other (if applicable)
