Add Associated View to sub-grid in Sales Hub app

In the Sales Hub app the Related tab shows Associated Views for Activities etc. associated with entities. It has filtering and other features that are helpful. However, if you try to create a sub-grid yourself with that same associated view it is not available to select. We want to break out some of the related entities onto a different tab but with that same view and features such as the filters. Is there a way to do this?  An example would be be on the Account form to have Activities under it own tab and have the filters and roll up all the contact's activities as well.

I have the same question (0)

Check out this article: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/customerengagement/on-premises/customize/sub-grid-properties-legacy You can put subgrids directly on a form. If you use the "related" tab, it will always show the associated grid by default. If you add your own tab and put the subgrid inthere, you can configure the view you want it to use.

    Hi AMM,

Associated Views cannot be used as the default view of a sub-grid like public views, which is by design.

"We want to break out some of the related entities onto a different tab but with that same view and features such as the filters."

    - It's impossible to implement exactly the same Associated Views in a new tab, but we can create a sub-grid in a new tab to mimic Associated Views as much as possible.

Create a new tab, and create a new sub-grid in it. In the Data Source, select Records as Only Related Records.

Let's look at the difference between them.

This is the new tab with a sub-grid.

This is the original Associated Views.

They show the same records and have the same command bar buttons.

The differences are 1) Associated Views has "Due:" to quickly filter by time, 2) switch whether to include related, 3) search records, 4) switch views quickly

So if you have no requirement for these four features, then you could insert a sub-grid in the new tab to achieve your needs.

Unfortunately, those 4 differences are the features we were hoping to have in a sub-grid on a separate tab.  It seems best we just leave everything under the Related tab to have better associated view features. Thanks!
