Designing user interface for presentation

Hello

I'm writing a PowerPoint presentation for sales purposes about a solution that I'm developing in AX.

I'm not ready with al forms who needs to be in the solution, but I want to design a form both for that sales presentation and also for future documentation for developers.

What way is best to design form and save it in picture format?

Does some Microsoft software like Microsoft Office Visio have AX platform?

Is some tools in Visual Studio recommended?

    Hi Sandri,

I always copy a look alike form, changes some field/buttons and labels. Then it is exaclty AX look alike :-).

In the past I have seen Visio tools for Windows XP forms, but not the AX design.

For FDD purposes, if this is too much work, I use a drawing tool like paint or paint.net to make the changes visible.

For FDD the quality is not important, but for your presentation, I would suggest to make or already the form itself, or copy a lookalike and change it.

    Hi Sandri

I suggest you to create yourself the form inside AX.

You can create the form without logic, with attention to look and feel only.

In AX 2012, you can start from the standard Templates.

Finally, with Task Record you can quickly create documentation of a process.

Task recorder can create Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, or Microsoft Visio documents that you can use to quickly document how to perform a task.

You can also identify a template to use when you create a document, so that you can quickly create documents with the same look and feel.

Also take a look at Powerpoint Storyboarding - it's a tool that Microsoft created exactly for this purpose.

A problem may be in licensing.

    Hi Martin

Is there any AX platform in Powerpoint Storyboarding?

Nothing AX-specific. I think it's good enough for high-level design. You could also create your custom shapes, of course.
