I need to make a parameter in ax that takes input from the end user and does not show any dropdown or preset value. Instead of it takes input from user., I am using UI builder class to make customized parameters in SSRS Report. How can I make this parameter.
Hi Sadia,
Did you already create the parameter in the contract class?
I am not sure where you are stuck, so I will share this post you can follow to create custom parameters.
Thanks Gunjan Bhattacharyya for responding!
The link you shared is working for me but but i am having one confusion, I needed the parameter same as Company parameter is working in the post you shared. But i do not need its lookup since i do not need to show the dropdown in it. I only want to take free text values from the end user, thats why i did not define its lookup but it is showing me object reference error when I click ok after setting parameters on front end.
It sounds like that you're trying to call methods on on a variable containing null. Your next step should be finding which line of code is throwing the exception.
I'm also not sure why you're showing a lookup method if you said you didn't define any lookup.
By the way, I changed the category of your thread from Financial Management to Development / Customization / SDK.
Hi Martin Dráb,This is my contract class containing Parm method for AnnualTurnOverLimit, I need to show this parameter in free text form on front end that will take user input.
And this is my Builder class where i have added this code in Build and postBuild method
I'm sorry, but I don't see any details about the error you complained about ("it is showing me object reference error when I click ok"). If you want our help with it, please share the exact error message (I guessed what it is, but it's good to be certain) and the line of code throwing the error.
If the lookup method you shared isn't related to the problem, I'll ignore it. If it's relevant, it would be good if you explained how.
Martin Dráb Thanks, error is resolved and its working fine now!
