Hi everyone
I'm trying to tidy up what some of our users are able to search on in the Advanced Find and Advanced Filter screens with CRM. I've successfully hidden fields by changing the Searchable option to No, but I'm having problems hiding a full Entity, or what I think are Entities.
I've read in a few places that restricting the Read permission of an Entity in the Security settings screen (for the Security Role that the user is assigned) will solve this, but it doesn't work for me.
The users in question are part of the Security Group shown below:
The Entities that the users do not have Read access to are hidden from the Advanced Find and Advanced Filter screens, but many more still exist as shown in the image below. I'm unable to find these in the Security screen.
Does anyone know how I can restrict access to these as well?
Many thanks,
Jon
Hi Supreet
Thanks for your reply, and apologies for the long delay in my message back to you.
I've checked the permissions on the Teams, and they have exactly the same permissions too. It's all very strange! Since the Wave 2 release I now have another issue, so I think I'll raise it directly with Microsoft as it seems to be a bug.
Many thanks for your help.
Best wishes
Jon
Hello Jon,
Just to clarify, is there any chance that the logged in user is a part of any team which has another security role assigned to it and that's why the entities are still visible from the Advanced find?
Thanks!!

Hi Supreet,
Thanks so much for your reply.
You make a very good point about the "Read" access on the Activity entity! However, I'm still unable to find most of the others such as Action Cards (Regarding). Do you know where I might find those? I can see an Entity called Action Card in the Security Role, but that is not set to Read access (however, it can still be seen in the Activity Filter search for those users):
I did find Action Cards Regarding in the Custom Entities tab on the Security Role, but it does not have Read Access for the users:
Many thanks,
Jon
Hi,
Please try to look for these entities on the other tabs for the security role. for eg.
Case entity is on the Service tab.
And also, I observed in the first screenshot that the security role has "Read" access on the Activity entity , that's why the "Activities" entity is still visible.
Please let me know if you are not able to find a entity in any of the security role tabs.
Thanks!!
