INTEGRATING MICROSOFT DYNAMICS 365 FOR TALENT TO MICROSOFT DYNAMICS 365 FOR FINANCE AND OPERATIONS

    Create an LCS project

To use LCS to manage your Talent environments, you must first create an LCS project.

    1. Sign in to LCS by using the account that you used to subscribe to Talent.
    2. Select the plus sign (+) to create a project.
    3. Select Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Talent as the product name and product version.
    4. Select the Dynamics 365 for Talent methodology.
    5. Select Create.

    Create a PowerApps environment

The integration between Talent and the PowerApps environments lets you integrate and extend the use of Talent data using PowerApps tools. Understanding the purpose of PowerApps environments will not only help you build apps to extend Talent, but also can also help you select the correct environment when provisioning Talent

    1. Click on the Talent project
    2. Click Talent App Management

    1. Click Manage Environment or go to https://admin.businessplatform.microsoft.com/environments
    2. Click New Environment

    Provision a Talent project

After you've created an LCS project and a PowerApps environment, you can provision Talent into the environment.

    1. Click on the Talent project
    2. Click Talent App Management

    1. Select Add, and then select the environment to provision Talent into.

    1. Select the ‘Include Demo Data’ option if you want your environment to include the same Demo data set used in the Talent Test Drive experience.
    2. Select Yes to agree to the terms and begin deployment.

Your new environment appears in the list of environments in the navigation pane on the left. However, you can't start to use the environment until the deployment status is updated to Deployed. This process typically takes just a few minutes. If the provisioning process is unsuccessful, you must contact Support.

Select Log on to Talent to use your new environment.

    Create Connection

    1. Log in to PowerApps or go to https://web.powerapps.com/

    1. Expand the Data node, click Connections
    2. Click New Connection

You will need to create two connection sets. One for Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations(Dynamics 365 for Operations(preview)) and another for Common Data Service(CDS).

    1. Select the connection to create and click Create.

    1. Select or enter an account to be used for connection, this account should has privilege to the modules or data area to be integrated.

    Create Connection Sets

    1. Login to PowerApps admin center or go to https://admin.powerapps.com/
    2. Click Data Integration
    3. Click the Connection Sets tab
    4. Click New Connection

    1. Enter Connection Sets name, the name must be the reference ID of the PowerApps environment.

    1. Click Create.

    Create Data Integration Project

    1. Login to PowerApps admin center or go to https://admin.powerapps.com/
    2. Click Data Integration.
    3. Click the Project tab

    1. Click New Project.
    2. Enter project name and select Core HR(Talent CDS to Fin and Ops)
    3. Click Next

    1. Select the Connection Sets created earlier and click Next.

    1. Select the Legal entity in Talent to integrate to.

    1. Click Create.

    1. Go back to the Data integration page, click on the newly created project.

    1. Click the Scheduling tab, setup up reoccurring run or run manually.

    Hi Donal,

In the spring release the integration was in public preview: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/business-applications-release-notes/april18/dynamics365-finance-operations/integration-dynamics365-talent and https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/business-applications-release-notes/april18/dynamics365-talent/integration-finance-operations

And in the October release it is enhanched "Core HR entity sync to enable Finance and Operations integration": https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/business-applications-release-notes/october18/dynamics365-talent/planned-features#cds-for-apps

I can't find any more information about it, and haven't tried myself, but it should work.

    Good luck!

    Hi,

    Has this been released yet?

I am attempting to set up Talent 365 for the first time and desperately trying to find documentation on how to integrate the D365 F&O data with Talent 365

I have established a Power Apps envt and underlying database but have got no further .

    Cheers

    Donal

    Hi

No, the integration via CDS hasn't been released. Latest update (as of yesterday) is that it's still in the testing stage and there hasn't been a date set for its release yet. MS need to make sure they can maintain the existing Talent SLAs before releasing it.

There is an ongoing integration work on this area. The current work will allow Data to flow from Talent to Operations. So, changes made on Talent can be periodically moved to Operations.
