Sharing a project is not working

(0) ShareShare

Hi,

I'm not able to share a project even if the sharing action say it's a success.

the Project Owner security role was assigned to the users through their teams. (No direct assignation of this role)

I don't know how to diagnose the issue.

I have a dev environment and there I can share projects, so it's something related to my production environment.

thanks

I have the same question (0)

    Hi Jerome!
We also had this problem. I opened the project, copied the URL and sent it to the user that couldn't open the project from the main page and it worked out.

    thanks for the tip

but we tested this too, without any success.

there is a security missing somewhere but I can't find it.

system administrators can share the projects, but not the other users.

it's certainly a small detail somewhere in the security on another table, but I'm not able to find it.

We had a similar issue for some projects that were older and had to open a support request with Microsoft to get it resolved.

There should be a corresponding Azure AD group for the project that if missing will prevent sharing.  The only way to for us to get this resolved was to open a support request.

    Hi,

we had also this problem. My workaround was that I gave the user the sysadmin role, shared again the project, waited 2 minutes and then removed the admin role again. Then it worked for the other users to access the project in customer voice.

It seems that the user needs some privileges which are not granted with the default customer voice roles.

    Thanks for the info

I just read something on the subject around the config requiring the system administrator role.

did you have to do this for each project? or just 1?

    also

can you change the sharing once the initial share is made? (without being in the system admin role)

I'll ask my administrator to do the initial share, but I don't want to ask him all the time :-)

Just to be more precise: I gave the user who should get access to a project the admin role. I tried sharing the project to users and I have the admin role myself, but thats not enough.

Yes, I had to do this for each project. But afterwards it could be shared to other users without the need for the admin role, once done for a project.

It is really a mess. :(
