Hi

I am working with REPORTING IN MICROSOFT DYNAMICS AX 2012. (Course 80318)

I made a Perspective (Sales analysis) for a Cube in AOT-Perspective following the instruction in Course 80318.

But when I try to make a Analysis Server Project by using:            Tools--> Busines Intelligence -> SQL Server project wizard

                                                          Project name: Dynamics AX SalesAnalysis

                                                          Perspective:  Sales analysis

                                                          Date

                                                          Arabic, Chinese, English(United States)

Add foreign currency support to the Analysis Services Project.

It gives me NOW the following error:

The table or view named 'BIPARTITIONSVIEW' is not related to any other tables or views. This will prevent creation of dimension usage mapping for that entity.

In my Visual Studio 2010 (BIDS) I can see all the other Cubes (default cubes) that I early Deploy, but I see no Sales Analysis Cube

I follow all the instrution I the Course 80318 so I don’t understand the error.

I hope that somebody ca give me a tip-explanation   THANKS

as per my understanding as this table is not related to a Framework Dimension

So we can ignore this message..

Moreover if you see this message is just an information and it is not an error or warning

Please verify and let us know with your findings

    Hi Nitesh

Ok it is only an information.

However, in Visual Studio 2010 when I open the sales Analysis and activate Sales Analysis Cube and try to activate KPI it cannot load metadata. ERROR: "Key Performance indicators not defined for this Cube"

    Thanks for your help

    Hi

There is no problem about Creating KPI in the Visual Studio 2010 anymore.

Now the problem is a Database is missing:   Dynamics AX SalesAnalysis.

When I try to Deploy a Analysis Services project - Dynamics AX SalesAnalysis- from AX2012 Tools>>>BI tools>>>SQL Serv..project wizard it gives me the error:

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------error start---------------------

A copy of the Analysis Services project being deployed has been saved to C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Local\Temp\Dynamics AX SalesAnalysis6\Dynamics AX SalesAnalysis.dwproj.

No database named Dynamics AX SalesAnalysis was found on server localhost.

Errors occurred while processing the Analysis Services database: Dynamics AX SalesAnalysis

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------error end------------------

Previously there were a page in this SQL Serv..project wizard where I cut write the name of a new database:

I would type “Dynamics AX SalesAnalysis“ but this page is now not in this Wizard

    WHY?????

    Regards Jan

Check by entering Server Name (not as localhost) correctly.

open the Analysis servers form (System administration > Setup > Business intelligence > Analysis Services > Analysis servers) to enter the correct name of the server

    Hi Jan,

I run into the same error with the SQL Server Analysis Sevices project wizard when I try to deploy a project:

"No database named Dynamics AX SalesAnalysis was found on server"

    Did you find a fix?

    Thank you very much!

It sounds like either the connection string to analysis services is incorrect or the connection string that the analysis services database is using to connect to the sql database could be incorrect, or you might be getting denied access to either database.

For connection error to ssas, connect to the analysis services server in sql management studio and confirm if your user account is in the server administrator list.  Right click the server node, choose properties, and then look in the sercurity tab.  If you are not in this admin role, you can't deploy anything to that server.

For connection error between ssas and sql,

The Analysis services project has a data source file that holds the connection settings.   Verify the server name and the database name used in that connection string matches the server and database name for the sql database.

Also check what account analysis services runs as (you can find the service in the services list and then check the account setting in the log on tab).  After you know the account, verify that the sql database has a log on for that account and that the account is in the db_reader role for the sql server database.

P.S. the ssas db name setting got moved into the biolapadmin form.  The link to it should be on the same menu as the wizard and should be named something like 'Analysis servers' on the OLAP Server tab make sure the one you want deploy to is set as the default.  The OLAP database tab shows the databases that have been deployed to that server.  The database name is not editable but, if you really need to reset it, it's stored in table BIAnalysisServicesDatabase.  You can update there using the table browser or with a sql statement.
