Walking away from PC - transaction entry window open

When you see this message reoccur "your previous transaction-level posting session has not finished processing please allow time ...", can it be due to the scenario where

1) user1 posts all transactions in a batch, prints all posting journals,

2) leaves the SOP transaction entry window open after posting or enters a transaction, saves it, and leaves the SOP transaction entry window open

3) walks away from computer

4) user2 at a different work station is trying to post a batch

I know network disruptions is supposed to be a cause, but there have been no disconnects with the network.

Unlikely that the above is the cause. It's more likely that its a posting interruption. Is this an RDP session? If so maybe the connection is timing out?

    Ian.

Yes, it's via RDP, but according to the user, there have been no interruptions.  Is a connection time-out something a user would even be aware of?

if you post without a batch in the SOP window (all GP windows) you wont get your posting journals until you close the window.  so point 1 in your scenario is an invalid assumption.

I could only see you stuck in the middle of processing if you did close the window got the window message to press ok to print the posting journal to the printer and did not answer that question.

    Ian,

I'm 100% in agreement with you. What struck me as funny is that the "..your previous transaction-level posting .." message is user specific.

    User2 should have no problems.

    Kind regards,

    Leslie
