I have the same question (0)Hi,
The concepts of the products are completely different. Microsoft Project is used to maintain activities and planning related to projects. It is quite easy to distribute MS Project files. So MS Project is more operational. The project module in AX is related to tracking the financial impact of projects. You can create activities on projects using templates or manually. You can post costs, capitalize and invoice customers. There is a small overlap in the WBS functionality and planning. When you have the activities in AX, you can also post e.g. hours on those activities. Planning and allocating resources is possible in AX, but some people prefer to use MS Project for different reasons.
Compare the use of AX or Excel for accounting.. Within AX it is streamlined and there are a lot of accounting rules which are checked. When you use Excel you have all our freedom.
