D365 Finance and Operation - Trail version

I am preparing for Dynamics 365 examination and thinking on taking the exam early next year. I am fully available over the holidays and thinking on spending my time useful

I am using a trail version that is provided from Microsoft which has limited functionality with limited demo data for 7 days. For every 7 days , I sign up again to continue practicing.  I believe it is not a full version because some of the administrator functionality that they mention on my course – I am not able to see it.

 

Checking Microsoft – they said a full trail of 30 days can be provided from the company’s partner.
They have given us a response saying it would be charged $200/month minimal for this service (online version of D365)
Is there any way that I can get a 30 day trail period of the new Dynamics 365 Finance and operation on premise or online , like they used to have a contosso environment image for Dynamics AX 2012? It would be very useful for my preparation.

    If you are associated with a customer or partner, you can download a local virtual machine (VHD) with a fully functional system.

    Last time I checked the free trial was for 30 days, have they shortened the period?

    Thank you for the response. I do have a customer source account and I am following the procedure that have been specified. When I create a project on LCS the product name options does not show D365 entities. Only option available is Dynamics AX 2012 and Dynamics NAV.

    Do you think our customer account needs to be updated ? or should we have some form of subscription.

    Note: We dont even have O365 subscription. , we have a individual app power BI subscription.

    Did you succesfully activate the customer trial? If yes, you will have trial licenses in the O365 tenant that you used for activation.

    Then use the same O365 account that you used to activate the licenses, login to LCS with it, and you should be able to create D365FO projects.

    Do not login to LCS with your Microsoft account.

    If you still see only AX2012 in LCS, click your name in the top right corner and see if you see multiple organizations there (or even one organization two times). Change the current organization to the one that  you used to activate the trial licenses. Now your LCS should show in D365FO mode.
