Hi,
I would like to build a Power BI report to show orders placed for a customer, is there any out-of-box aggregate measurement I can use for this?

Did you look at perspectives node in Application explorer ? SalesCube might be helpful, I haven't used it though.

Please have a look at the default built in PowerBI reports first.
For sales, it is this one here: docs.microsoft.com/.../sales-profitability-performance-content-pack
To me it looks as if your reporting need is already covered there and there is no need to build something additional on your own.
Would be great if you could double check and let us know if this standard workspace satisfies your needs.
