Does anyone know if there is a known issue with using the VAT Daybook rather than the VAT 100 to submit an MTD return to HMRC?

Using GP 18.3, after entering a year and period in the VAT Daybook Report, the HMRC login page is not being displayed and then reports there is no obligation for year 0.
If I use the VAT Return instead, the HMRC login page is displayed as expected after entering the year.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Any suggestions gratefully received.

Hi Dave,

I'm not familiar with the VAT Daybook in GP for European countries, but Tim Wappat or Ian Grieve might be able to help here..

I've sussed it.
The period entered must be consecutive to a previous submission or it doesn't try to connect to HMRC.
The VAT 100 is less fussy.

Obvious when you know the answer!
