New UI updates/ filter options in views

Hi All,

I manage two separate Instances of Dynamics 365 for sales, one internally, and one for a small reseller as part of the group.

Users have reported this morning that they are unable to sort in views with the same functionality they had previously. it appears that an update has restricted the filters available in views to alphanumerical, regardless of field type? Users were able to sort in views Reflecting the option sets for example. which they can no longer do.

Is this something anyone else is experiencing, and am I missing something basic which I can configure to return this functionality. It has effected both environments, which are completely independent of one another.

Thanks.

    Hi Martin,

There should be Filter By in the filter options of views.

Has 2020 release wave 1 been enabled in your environments?

RE: New UI updates/ filter options in views

    Hi,

Filter by is available, which is a workable solution for fields with basic option sets. The previous version listed options on drop down as "Equals" options by default, so the change in design has thrown me slightly and some of our user, so it does appear the functionality is still here. Thank you.

There are still some issues with this solution however.

For example: in the Accounts Entity, we have the owner field visible on some views (for users with sufficient security privileges). Clicking the filter option on the owner column used to give immediately selectable options from users with dynamics 365 licenses applied.

Using the filter by option above now lists every user in AD ( including non-interactive users, all teams etc). Is it possible to limit the filter by options to only users with an active dynamics 365 license?

In addition, whereas clicking the column header users to sort low to high or alphabetically, this now brings up the "Sort A to Z" options you have linked above. This is a little confusing when users are sorting by date for example.

Is it possible to configure these options to accurately reflect the content in the field ( even if its just to change the display name of the sorting parameters. It would be great if when a user clicked to sort a date field it could say "sort oldest to newest" for example.

    Thanks.

    Martin

RE: New UI updates/ filter options in views

    Hi Martin,

For option sets field, the new version of view filtering is indeed not as convenient as the old version.

But their search results must be the same.

For the date field, "Sort A to Z" is the same as the old version ↑, and "Sort Z to A" is the same as the old version ↓.

Unfortunately, the filtering of views cannot be customized.

You could share your suggestions in Ideas.
