Print the License plate labels with Epson C3500 printer

Hi experts,

We are trying to print the license plates to Epson C3500 printer and it does not print the label instead it prints the whole ZPL code form the Documents routing layout.

We have installed the DRA and tested with the Chrome ZPL Extension and it works. Followed the below blog MSDyn365FO: Setup Zpl Printer to print license plate labels - Microsoft Dynamics AX Community

Could you please suggest if we can print the Labels to a printer which does not use ZPL language?

Hi Gurunath,

The printer should support ZPL, otherwise it will just print text. ZPL stands for Zebra Programming Language. The printer should be able to translate this language.

Thanks for your response.

Do we now need to replace the Epson with ZPL printer?. Can you let me know if there would be a possibility to print the License plate labels with a non ZPL printer with or without using the Document routing layouts?

Hi Gurunath,

There is a standard feature in the application to print barcodes using SSRS reporting technology. If you need to print high volume of labels with high performance, ZPL would be the better recommendation.

Hi Andre, I was referring to your suggestion having a standard feature to print the labels directly from Dynamics. Do we have any documentation for this?

I have to come back to this post because we have same issue and i have not found any really helpful informations.

And the mentioned documentation "Enable license plate label printing"

Based on my knowledge:

- Creating document routing layouts with multiple headlines and dataplaceholders directly in D365 is only possible based on ZPL

- For other requirements you need to have add. paid external service like bartender, loftware, lasernet..

So if there is any helpful blog, link, video or anything else, how to cover that without zpl and without addon, please reply to this post.
