Getting error A call to System.Diagnostics.Process.Start failed with message

Dynamics NAV versions 2016 and earlier.  2017 and 2018 still work.  Users in multiple locations and installations just started getting this message while attempting to use "Custom Report Layouts" after clicking the "Edit Layout" button.

Can you send the screenshot of the message and check for additional information on error message in the event log, they might be missing some perquisite component.

There are no event logs on either the workstation or server.  I can't seem to get a bitmap uploaded, but the exact message is:

A call to System.Diagnostics.Process.Start failed with this message:

The system cannot find the file specified.

It looks like it is in a standard NAV error dialog with red 'X' and an 'OK' button.

    Hi Dan Eckhoff,

Have your issue be solved? I am working on NAV 2016 CU2 today and facing the same error as you reported.

Before that is working fine for me.

    Regards,

    Valerie

This is probably due to an installation of a ReportBuilder that is not compatible with your NAV version.

You can try to repair your ReportBuilder installation. The executable is located in the Dynamics.XXXXXXXX.DVD\Prerequisite Components\Microsoft SQL Server 2014 Express\ReportBuilder3.msi
