Data entities not deployed to test

Hi,

We have deployed deployment package successfully in Test environment from Dev environment through command window. Synchronization is done successfully and tables are imported to.

Data Entities we have created for Dev VM. But when I checked it in Test environment though there are staging table there are not data entities. Do we need to create same manually from front end?

Regards,

Smit patel

Your description is confusing, because you're talking about creating data entities from the front end, although that's not how data entities are created. Maybe you have data entities deployed, but you don't see them in the list of entities in data management? If so, try going to Framework parameters > Entity settings and refresh the list of entities.

    Hi Martin,

You understood it correctly. We have deployed data entities in package but some of them only I can see from front end in Test Environment. I have tried to refresh it as you suggested but it is showing same number of data entities. We have total 14 entities out of those only 4 are visible. Staging tables and security privileges are available for all 14.

    Hi

I checked DMFEntity Table too from SSMS but it has only four records. I have followed same procedure while creating all of them and there is no property difference among them. So not getting exactly what happened.

If you can check what tables you have, can you also look at views? (Each entity is backed by a view.)

Views which are on security privileges are there. For table A we have 2 security privileges AView AModify. We have DataEntity ADataEntity and We have One Staging ADataEntityStaging in test machine. For all 14 of them.

I'm sorry, but I don't understand what you mean by "Views are on security privileges". I meant views in SQL Server database.

    Hi Martin,

Yes views are also there. I have checked from SSMS. I thought these are same views which are created when user makes Data Entity and by default 2 security privileges Data Entity View  and Data Entity Modify comes (AOT --> Security --> Security Privileges). I can not see any view under (AOT --> Data Entity --> Views) for my data entities.

I got confused between view of security privileges and view.

We created it manually. I think that list page which includes all data entities is DMFEntity table at back end and it is containing records of table relations for data entities. So ideally it should not move to other environment(those records). But Data Entities (Elements) will definitely move to new environment. So we have to create those records manually again in new VM. It won't need VS for same so we can create same in PROD environment too.

There is no View node under entities. Entities are so-called updateable views. Each entity is represented by a view for reading, plus it has some business logic for updates.

If you say that you don't see your entities, how is it possible that synchronization was able to synchronize them to database?

Sorry, I don't understand what you're talking about. It's seems that you moved invalid data, although you never mentioned any data transfer before. Please tell us what exactly you did. Have you copied a database from another system, or what?
