Help on document routing agent

Hi 

 

Can you please help me regarding the following queries:

 

- What are the best practices for using  Document Routing Agent.

- Are there any use cases of document routing

- Can the document routing layouts only be used for Zebra printers or for other printers as well? How to use it for other printers

- Is there a simple technical interface (from a development view) to use the document routing, how can we call it?

- We want to call the document routing somewhere from dynamics passing the layout, layout data and printer name

- What are the Best Practices to design layouts?

    Hi Talent,

    The Document Routing Agent is not a program you can call yourself. It is a service to be able to print from the cloud to local printers.

    You can read the documentation and use cases here: docs.microsoft.com/.../print-documents

    To answer some questions: You can use it for any SSRS report to print on any local printer. If the Zebra printer is a printer in your network, you can use that printer as well.

    You can't control the contents of the print job apart from the layout in your SSRS reports.

    If you need barcode printing, you can use SSRS reports or watch the upcoming release on Electronic Reporting where a barcode data source will be supported: docs.microsoft.com/.../barcode-generation-datasource-configurable-business-documents
