I have a situation where I need to change the Mode of Delivery ("UPS1DaySvr" to "UPS 1D Svr"). This is the Primary Key on the table. I am aware of the "Rename" functionality that AX has that will accomplish this, but not sure I want to go down that path for other reasons.
I don't see a way within AX to "deactivate" one a Mode of delivery so I could just add another and move forward. The reason I need to "deactivate" it is so that users will no longer be able to select the old one ("UPS1DaySvr"), but still want to be able to see it for historical purposes if they pull up an old order.
If I Delete the Mode of delivery, does it really remove it and all the history, or does it virtually delete it and accomplish what I want?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Shaun

I have the same question (0)Hi Shaun,
What is the real difference between a code with or without spaces? What are your other reasons?
When you delete the Mode of delivery, AX will check if it is used on a customer. If not, you can delete it, but you will also delete the description and possible translation texts then.
You can also create a Security policy where you restrict the old Mode of Delivery being used on new orders. This can be achieved with the eXtensible Data Security in AX.
