looking for some suggestions on how to support uncommon mosquito control services

Hi,

I have 3 mosquito services which are a little different than norm and am looking for suggestions on how to make them fit with Field Service.

First service is Night Truck, think about a fleet of garbage trucks driving around the neighborhood for a village or town on a given day.  We have one works order for the Village but allocate technicians to one or many map sections as we spray adulticide.

Second service is Catch Basin, think of a group of technicians inspecting all the fire hydrants in a village.  In our case a village may have 100s of catch basins, again we have 1 works order but we dispatch a bike crew (4/5 technicians) to cycle around the village and record the GPS point where they apply chemicals.

Third service is field inspection.  Can't think of a similar example.  A village has 100s of locations where mosquitoes are likely to breed.  Again there is one works order and we assign multiplle sites to each technician.  They inspect the site and treat if necessary.

Any assistance appreciated.

    hi there!

    unique situation, indeed :)
    • are you using RSO (resource schedule optimization)?
    • for night truck
      • you could have a single work order for the entire village/town
        • but use RSO to separate the map into specific sections and have these as different "resource requirements" within the work order
        • then utilize route planning to efficiently plan routes for each truck to ensure the trucks cover their designated sections without overlapping
        • setting specific time windows to ensure the work is carried out within designated hours
    • for catch basin work orders
      • you can assign a "crew" which includes the 4/5 bike technicians to the work order
      • each catch basin could be a service task within the work order, and use asset management to record each basin / gps location of each
      • by allowing these 4/5 bike techs the field service mobile application - the app itself can capture where they apply the chemicals and update the work order accordingly with gps lat/long
    • for the field inspection service
      • create one work order for the village/town
      • assign multiple techs to this work order
      • define each site as a task / use asset management to define these locations
      • again using mobile app, the gps lat/long will be captured
using TASKS instead of inspections allows you to assign specific groups of tasks to different technicians

    hope this helps!
