Crystal Reports ufl 'u2sol4.dll' that implements this function is missing

I am running Dynamics SL 2018 CU6.   I am getting this error when trying to view the SQL script while editing a Crystal report.  Reports run fine within Dynamics SL.  I only see the error when editing the reports.

I have found solutions for this across the internet and in this forum, but nothing has worked.   Also, most of the resolutions are for an older product.    Things I have tried:

  • I have copied the u2sol4.dll file to:  SYSWOW64, C:\Program files (x86)\Business Objects\BusinessObjects Enterprise 12\win32_x86 and various other locations recommended.
  • I have uninstalled the SL client and reinstalled it.
  • I have asked Crystal to repair itself.

Any suggestions?

Thank you,

Laurie

Thanks for such nice piece of information, I'm also facing the same problem of u2sol4.dll files missing. If you want to know more please visit pcpatchedup.com/u2sol4-dll .

Hope this will also help you.

Thank you!   I had a newer version of Crystal.   The error went away when I installed the older Crystal version, and reinstalled the Dynamics SL client again.

That dll enables the custom functions that are commonly used in SL reports written in Crystal. The error comes up when Crystal Reports Designer can't locate that DLL, usually because registry keys point to a wrong location. The easiest approach is to remove the SL client and Crystal Designer installations on the workstation, reboot the computer, then reinstall Crystal Reports Designer first followed by an SL client installation. This also assumes you are installing the Crystal version distributed with SL2015 and earlier releases, as Crystal XI releases won't work.

Hopefully you don't have another version of Crystal Reports installed on that workstation. The runtime version distributed with Best Fixed Assets conflicts with the version used by SL.
