Lookup field - how can I prevent a user from adding a new value?

Hi all,

I have created a custom table for 'Country' and created a lookup field on Opportunity form to allow the user to select a value from the Custom table.

However, I want that value only to be one on the custom table, i.e. I do not want them to be able to access the 'new' option on the lookup field. The reason being I wish to avoid inadvertent duplicates but also that there are field on the custom table where I have mapped each country to a region for example.

Is there a way to do this?

Thanks

Andrew

When you give security access previlige to country entity, do not give "create" previlige

Give only "Append" "Appen to" "Read"

As suggested above, please remove create access of users so that duplication will not take place any way. Also make sure that access of 'country' table and 'opportunity' table must have "Append and Append To"

You can do this by go to setting -> Security -> security roles

and choose the security role which you want to prevent the creation action , go to custom entities and in "Country" Row , disable create role by set the circle empty

Go to Setting -> Security -> Security roles.

    Hi Partner

When you give security access privilege to country entity, do not give "create" privilege

and provide Read access to "Append" and "Append to"

Reference areticle for security roles and privileges:  https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-platform/admin/security-roles-privileges
