Expand Purchase Order Comments on Blank form

Posted on by 265

We want to expand he comments that print on the bottom of a po, not the line item. I tried adding a calculated field using the RW_POPHDRComment() function but keep getting an error in equation.

The 'a' is just a text field that I put on the form so that when I print the document in GP I can tell if the actual modified form is printing.   If I see the 'a" on report then I know the Modified report is printing.

Make sure you are adding comments to the comment in the footer of the PO.   I tested opened the arrow next to the comment field.  (Last field on the comment line).

    Hope this helps.

I no longer getting an error on the calculated fields but no comments are printing when I add the new fields and make the old ones invisible. What is the field "a" to the left of the first comment line in your last frame ?

I think my problem is getting the space before 80 and after.  am putting a space using the space bar inserting a constant string.

    Hi

Thank you for reaching out. I'm happy to help you.  You are on the right track using the function, but you will want to make it like this:

Each comment line needs a new increment.  The first number of characters (80 as a standard) and the next number is which broken up chunk to pull. So you will need multiple calculated fields.  Second one would look like this and so on.

Than place them into the footer.   Don't delete the current comments, but double click on them and make them invisible.  If you delete you will cause errors to occur.

    Hope this helps!
