Hi, I am currently unemployed and wanting to broaden my horizons and oppertunities with Business Central.
I have created a Microsoft 365 trial (South African Region) but Business Central does not like it for some reason
Any pointers will be appreciated

In South Africa the localization is done by a partner and not by Microsoft them self.
So you should contact a local Dynamics partner and discuss your options with them.
