Unable to see Alerts, Calendar, Content Library options in sitemap

Posted on by 140

Hello,

I have an online organisation in classic UI (9.1v) and have same replica with UCI view.

In classic UI, I could see some navigations like Alerts, Calendar (both under Service area) Content Library (under Training area) which I can not see in UCI. I tried to modify the customization xml also by adding these navigations from classic UI, but no changes were reflected.

Is there any way of adding these navigations or are these deprecated?

Thanks in advance!

    Hi Bipin,

    Thanks for you response!

I tried by updating the URL as mentioned above. Now I can see Calendar icon on sitemap, however, the url is not working. it gives error. It does not work even by directly accessing the url.

    Hi,

Update your URL in below format.

    /main.aspx?pagetype=kbsearch&showLang=1&enableSelection=1

Based on above format which is OOB URL for KB Search, your URL should be as below.

    /main.aspx/workplace/home_calendar.aspx

    Hi partner,

These navigations can’t add to sitemap in UCI, you can access them by ways that I mentioned above.

I have tried updating the sitemap using sitemap designer. I could add Alerts, Calendar, Content Library. To configure these entities, links need to be provided (and not entities) in older UI, so I added same as it was there in classic UI. For e.g. the link for calendar (in classic UI) was '/workplace/home_calendar.aspx'

However, I can not see them on sitemap.

Would like to know whether it is compatible in new UI.

    Hi partner,

Unfortunately, you can’t add them to sitemap in UCI, but you can use their functions by following steps:

1.For Calendar, you can refer following link to add Calendar control to one entity.

    (Settings->Customizations-> Customise the system->Entity)

    https://tattooedcrmgirl.com/2019/08/01/implementing-the-calendar-control-in-unified-interface/

2.For Alerts, you can use Alerts4Dynamics to Create Announcements, Alerts and Notifications.

3.For Learning Path, the feature is still in the beta testing.

Capabilities not yet on Unified Interface:

Updating customization.xml is not recommended by Microsoft. But you have ways to edit your sitemap. Please refer below article
