Grid Header for Decimal Datatype Alignment - D365 CE v9.1 On Premise

Dear All

Hope that all is well with you all. I wonder if anyone notices that in D365 CE v9.1 on premise, the grid header alignment for decimal datatype is not as how it was aligned in previous version.

v 9.0: Right Aligned - same as the rows alignment

v9.1: Left Aligned - where as rows are right aligned

Our users are a little bit of UI-centric therefore they request if the header on 9.1 can be adjusted similar to v9.0 which is right aligned. Is there any supported ways? Many thanks in advance, though.

Regards,
Jonas

    Hi Jonas,

With the upgrade of the version, the grid header alignment for decimal datatype is changed--label is on the left but values are on the right in the view.

This is true for all number types, not just decimal fields, and It is impossible to change the alignment in a view.

However, maybe you can try to change(increase/ decrease) the column with by clicking on the properties and selecting the width, which  won't actually change the alignment, but it will make it look a little nicer in the view.

Go to Settings > Customizations > Customize the system > Entities > Account > Views to open one view.

Select the decimal field(LCY Balance in your scenario), click 'Change Properties' and select one proper width.

And you can refer following links for more ways to change width of column in the view:

    Hi Leah

Yes, you are right, this occurs for number datatype (it's just because I only have sample for decimal).

Your approach may be applicable for certain degrees, however our users prefer no to have the value text to be truncated (yes, the decimal value can be quite long) and if I adjust the header to be just the same length as the header label, it means that the aforementioned truncated value for display risk may occur.

I was actually thinking if we could change the customizations.xml file, although I knew that this kind of approach might be risky and have not really find the appropriate xml tag for this thought anyway.

Will try to convince the users, though. Many thanks in advance.

    Regards,

    Jonas
