Microsoft Dynamics NAV (Archived)

Display 8 decimals in "Quantity per" in Production BOMs.

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hi,

I am using NAV 2013. I got a decimals issue. In Production BOMs, the "Quantity per",  for instance,

Now "Quantity per" = 0.14416, only shows 5 decimals. The accurate "Quantity per"=0.14416184

Is there any way to show 8 decimals?

(I can access to Development Environment. )

Thank you in advance!

    Hi,

You can use different units of measurement.

For example, instead of using KG with 8 decimal places, use gr. 5 decimals, or mg to 2 decimals.

    Best Regards,

    Agustí

Sounds very simple to do but this needs to be done very carefully as this has cascading effect

    hi,

you should also change some codeunits containing the function "ROUND" rounding also "quantity per" otherwise you may get incorrect outputs and consumptions.

you should also change the BOM Buffer table used in calculating Explode BOM, Refresh Production Order codeunit & reports and etc. etc .

    Hi,

At present, it supports only upto 5 decimals.  You need to change the DecimalPlaces property on that field from the Development Environment and also need to take care at other places where it's been used.
