Checking the reportnumber being used for certain task - ie. Invoices

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

I'm having some trouble locating the layout our invoices uses - I've done a search on "invoice" in the layout chooser, and see a bunch of RDLC ones - but none that look like the current invoice-layout being used. (Get over 15 RDLC layouts containing the word invoice)

Is there some way, I can locate what Report-id our current invoice are using - so I can edit it(Which was the purpose of locating it in the first place)

    For Custom Layout check following

    msdn.microsoft.com/.../dn757308(v=nav.90).aspx

It seems that, 50032 is RDLC report and not custom word report.

If you are planning to work with Word Reporting, You need to learn to create new Custom Layout. Refer below link.

    www.youtube.com/watch

You will not have default word format available as standard for customised report, instead you need to create your own.

    Hi ,

    Did you try -

From the Developer environment design the report and from tools, select word Layout select Export Layout.

Okay, so I found the correct one. 50032 which matches op with an RDLC called INVOICES.

But when I try to make a custom layout by highlighting that line 50032 - then custom layout -> new -> "insert word".

The when choosing "edit", the word document that opens is completly empty.

I think you are not checking at correct place. Page 143 is "Posted Sales Invoice" Page. It is not report.

To check the report, first you need to click the report option, from where you print the report. As soon as you click the option, you should see the report preview window. Here you should see the actual no.

Just for your understanding, see the below sample.

    But here lies my problem.

    Which shows 143 (right?)

But when I check in the Report Selection Page, the number isn't there

I've checked with all the working layout that work, all their numbers arent in the selection page either - and they are working. So in this end, it appears, that whatever that number by "page" is, isn't the numbers being utilized.

    Try this.

Click on your Invoice Report (do not click Preview). Try following steps.

If your report is automatically generating, Go to Report Selection Page and see which report ID is being selected over there.

    Hi,

    Try This -

    1. From invoice page run the Report. In request page from Help, About this report get the Report ID.

    2. From the Developer environment design the report and from tools, select word Layout select Export Layout.

Let me know if any issues.
