Hi,

Does anybody know the security permission required to be enabled against a role in AX that dispays the Fact Boxes on the right hand side of forms such as in the Fixed Asset landing page you'd see Net book Value etc..

Right click on the Net book field's value > Record info. Right click on the Book field value > Personalise > Information tab. You will see that the Caller is AssetNetBookValuePart, which is the infopart (fact box) in question.

In a developer workspace open AOT > Parts > Form Parts > AssetNetBookValue > Right click > Add-ins > Cross-reference (this needs to be built by a developer in advance) > Used by. There you would find that the menu item pointing to open this fact box is \Menu Items\Display\AssetNetBookValuePart. On this screen highlight the menu item, Add-ins button > Security tools > View related security roles.

It will give you a list of all security objects that can grant access to interact with this fact box, and then you can create your own overrides. If you want to remove it, the menu item's cross-reference does show it is in the Security > Priviliges > AssetDepBookSumView and AssetSumView with Read access - setting it to None will hide it for non-admin users.

The security of form parts works same as form security. Because those are accessible by Display menu items.

Let stake your given example. As per standard AX, Net book value of fix asset list page can be seen by accounting supervisor. Now if you change permission level from following two privileges, accounting supervisor cannot see net book value part

    • AssetSumView

    • AssetDepBookSumView

In example, net book value part is being controlled by a display menu item named as AssetNetBookValuePart

So, as summary, we can say, security of form parts works same as forms security.

    Hi,

Found the problem. Under the Security Entry Point Permissions in System Admin for that specific role it did not have view or full access to the Panes under Fixed Assets. Added the Privileges to the role and it is now working.
