Missing option in the dynamics 365 forms menu bar

Hi

The CRM I work with was built on Customer Service Enterprise licensing and I believe the functionality is a bit different to Sales Enterprise.

However, I reached out to this forum before to assist me with exporting information from the CRM to pdf and I was able to sort out the issue with all your help (link : Export to PDF - Dynamics 365 Customer Service Forum Community Forum)

I've come across another issue where the 'Export to PDF' button which was in the menu bar before (image 1) isn't shown in the menu anymore (image 2).

Nothing was changed in the backend except the addition of some new fields to the forms. But I was flagged this change before I published the new fields.

Any ideas?

I have the same question (0)

    Hi Vindiyani,

Two screenshots you provided above are same, I can’t find any difference between them, maybe you need provide another different screenshot again.

Now, your system administrator can choose the entities for which PDF generation is enabled. If PDF generation isn't enabled, you won't see the option to create a PDF file.

To Enable this feature, you must open Sales Hub app->Navigate to App Settings->Productivity Tool->Convert to PDF->Manage to enable one entity you need.

However, you mentioned that you only have customer service enterprise, which means that you can’t view ‘export to pdf’ button if the entity not enabled in sales app.

    Hi Leah

Sorry about the image. Please see the one below.

As you can see the 'Export to PDF' option is available in this menu. No changes were done in the backend for it to be removed.

    Hi Leah

    Thanks for the quick response.

I see the same version in my CRM

Can you be more specific on what you mean by entity?

    Hi Vindiyani,

The entity is now table, like Account, Contact, Case etc.

For more entities information, you can refer following link:

Introduction to entities (Developer Guide for Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement (on-premises)) | Microsoft Docs

From your screenshot, you are in the newest version, only ‘Quote’ entity has an OOB ‘Export to PDF’ button, other entities need enable PDF generation firstly in sales hub app, Otherwise, you can’t view ‘Export to PDF’ button in other entities form, which is by-design.

    Hi Leah

Thanks again for helping me out on this.

The entity is a custom entity named as 'Survey' and I do see all the 'Actions' mentioned in the doc you shared on the entity.

Would you be able to tell me where I should look to see if I can enable the 'Export to PDF' button option in this custom entity?

    Hi Vindiyani,

To Enable this feature, you must open Sales Hub app->Navigate to App Settings->Productivity Tool->Convert to PDF->Manage to enable one entity you need.

If you have no any licenses for sales hub, you can’t enable PDF generation for the custom entity.

    Hi Leah

Hopefully this will be my last question on this issue.

Can you tell me what made the 'Export to PDF' option available to begin with since the CRM wasn't built on the 'Sales Hub App' licence?
