5.7.60 SMTP; Client does not have permissions to send as this sender

Posted on by 80

Hi,

I am trying to get a workflow sending out notifications for approval. However I have been unable to.

The current issue it gives me back is the subject title: Client does not have permissions to send as this sender.

I'm not quite sure about this error purely because the smtp settings I've entered work absolutely fine when tested in the SMTP Mail Setup, yet when run by the Job Queue it fails.

The username which created the Job queue does not have an email address and so I wonder if that is the issue, but again that makes very little sense as I have entered the SMTP mail setup details correctly.... surely office365 would authenticate against that and not the job queue username?

Either way, I would be very appreciative if someone knew the answer to this and could share it with me?

Thank you

Lee

The answer here was in the User Approval Setup, the username which created the Job Queues had an email address in the email field

Nav was trying to send on behalf of this email address..

The simple fix was to remove the email address and it worked fine with no further SMTP error!

    Thanks for all your help

    Hi Maneesha,

The mailbox used in these workflows is setup and I have permissions to send on behalf of.

Who else do I need to grant permissions to?

I don't quite see which account it's using to send as if it's not using the SMTP settings I've already entered?

    Hi

seem to be problem with your office 365 permissions for the sender not from the NAV, can you check are you able to send Test mail using the same id as sender, check the below link and it meets the requirements listed of the sending method in the article.

On the Job Queue in Parameter Field enter the email you want to use and see if that resolves the issue.
