Hi All, How can we add "Reason code" field on Inventory movement Journal and Inventory Adjustment journal through UI?

I know we can add through mobile app, On hand inventory- quality adjustment.

But  the requirement is to select it on the Inventory adjustment journals and movement journal.

Can anyone help with the configration?
I have the same question (0)

    Hi,
The "Reason code" field isn’t available out-of-the-box on Inventory Movement or Adjustment journals in the UI. While it's supported in the mobile device menu (like Quality Adjustment), for the standard Inventory journals, adding Reason codes requires either:
Customization (extending the journal line form and logic), or Using inventory reason codes in advanced warehouse processes, but that doesn’t reflect in the manual journal UI directly.

There’s no standard parameter to enable it on those journals in the UI.

    Hope this helps,
    Zain

    Hi CU13032032-0,

Reason codes through D365 F&SCM UI is not possible out of the box to be added for Movement journals.

However, for adjustment journals you can still leverage the option called Request change under the Functions menu which allows you to amend changes into the journal on approved journals (in case if you are using the Adjustment journal workflow).

The other alternative is to use the same reason codes that we have for cycle counting on the mobile app or the D365 F&SCM application or the reason codes that exist for On hand inventory - adjustment through extensions for Movement journals and Adjustment journals (if the Inventory adjustment workflow is not being used).

    Hope this helps.

Hi, the Counting Reason Code can be added to both journal types at the line level.  On teh lines, click on Add Column and select the field.

Here it is on the Movement Journal in Contoso USMF:

You don't need a separate Reason Code field. Just create one Inventory movement journal name for each Reason Code that you want.

Inventory management > Setup > Journal names > Inventory

And if you really must use Inventory adjustments, do the same for those.
