On Hand Inventory Shows Licence Plate on multiple Locations

Hi All,

another Question for the Warehouse Experts!

As far as i know, a Licence Plate can only be at on Location at the Time. So i get a Little Confused when i have a look at my "On Hand",

Ashampoo_5F00_Snap_5F00_2017.04.21_5F00_12h12m50s_5F00_016_5F00_.png

What are all the "emtpy" lines about? There is no way of hiding them either. I used the Clean Up Tool in inventory Management, or in the dimension

Display Settings, turned "closed Transactions" on/off . as well as Quantity on/ off - nothing seems to help .

has anyone got an idea?

regards. Ruben

    Hi Ruben,

You're right; a LP can only exist in one location. LPs themselves don't have locations, but the inventory that is on them does. Therefore, an LP with physical inventory has a location (and an empty LP has no location). In your On-hand inquiry, some of those lines have no Physical inventory; the LP is not really 'in' those locations.

Unfortunately, the 'On-hand inquiry' does not only show Physical inventory. It also shows financial inventory. If you select the SN-002 row (the one with no physical inventory) and click to the 'On-hand' tab, you might find that the Physical or Financial cost amount is not zero. If so, AX is using these records to maintain integrity of the inventory costing.

However, all is not lost! Depending on your costing method, you might find that the periodic Inventory close tidies these up. If it does not, the 'On-hand entries aggregation by financial dimensions' job might do it for you.

Please try it in a test environment first (and if you use Standard Costing and Warehouse management, check you have the updated KB2951209 installed).

I personally have no Problem with thoose entries, but the customer find it really irritating.

@guy as i mentioned , i tried the clean up Tools, BUT you might be right about the open Transactions., i will check whether a inventory Close will let thoose entries disappear .

am i missing another form where i could have a look at only physical inventory, other than the "on Hand" , would be embarassing :D

In the scenario I worked on recently (standard cost, warehouse management), the clean up job I mentioned made a massive difference. The only other place I've found that did not show these zero quantity records is the 'Batch reservation' form, which this customer uses (but I can see that would be pretty uncommon).

    Hi Ruben,

I just reviewed the call I had with Microsoft for this topic. They also recommended to try this clean-up job:

It didn't work in our scenario, but might for you.
