Employee ID. Possible to configure range?

Hi All,

I would like to know if it is possible to configure the range of the employee ID number. Our employee ID's do not start at the number 1; So it must be configurable? Is it possible to set an amount limit? For instance, start and increment employee ID's from 3100, but only allot 400 incremental id's, effectively stopping at 3500 until administration can up the allotment.

Thanks All - Dom

That makes sense - if you can work with what the application provides, why develop outside the box.

    Good luck.

Thanks for the response. we settled on 'setup > human resources' and either choosing to auto select the next ID or input the starting range.

Perhaps a VBA would do the range but as it is not built in we are going to put that idea aside. thanks again

Unless someone else has a better idea I am pretty sure you are going to need to get some VBA written around the Employee ID so that you can put these rules into place.

In general the field is either manually entered, or you allow the system to 'automatically' assign.  But my understanding is that there is not a way to put limits as described.

Let us know if you need more assistance.  As well, I am sure that there are some in the community that know more about VBA and they could reach out and assist.
