Depreciation Proposal is not Populating Lines

Hello Experts,

I am trying to depreciate assets using the depreciation proposal but system is not populating depreciation lines.. Following are the things which i checked to resolve the issue but all in vain.

1-Depreciation Profile is created with Reducing balance Method.

2- Depreciation and depreciation adjustment Posting Profiles are defined.

3- Asset group is attached with value model.

4-Depreciation check box is enabled in the value model and depreciation profile is assigned.

5-Calender is assigned to the value model.

6- Depreciation profile assigned with the value model have depreciation year as "calendar" and period frequency is  "Yearly".

Kindly Guide further what i have to check to make depreciation proposal system fully functional.

    Hi Faisal,

    Does your depreciation proposal work in a different demo or test environment?

    Have you enabled the Parameters for depreciation at the value model level?

    Since you've ruled out most of the causes, I suggest checking the FA Value model field called Date when depreciation was last run. It should be empty or at least before today.

    P.S. I know it's stupid but the fixed asset should have some balance too, i.e. be acquired.

    Thank you for the quick reply. parameters for depreciation are enabled already stated in my question.  Depreciation proposal is working for one of my asset group/value model and not working for the others while setup part is same.

    Thank you for the suggestion. i am trying to depreciate assets which are already acquired and date when depreciation was last run is one month before the date of depreciation proposal.

    Hi MuhammadFaisal,

    If it is working for one group then it will also work for the others.

    Simply try to compare the setup of your different groups to find what makes those groups different.

    It might also be a filter that is applied when you run the depreciation proposal. Please also check this to rule out this possiblity.

    Thank you for the response. I have already matched the configuration and rechecking it.I will get back to you once found any differences in configurations.

    Currently there is one difference other than the configurations;The difference is that the group for which depreciation proposal is working have assets which were acquired in prior years while the group for whom it is not working have same year acquisition.

    I did not get your point of filter for depreciation proposal. Can you please further explain or provide guild lines from where i can check this filter is applied or not.

    Hi Faisal,

    In the depreciation proposal form there is a filter option (records to include) available.

    Just ensure that no filter is entered there.

    Thank you for guiding me. I am using group asset filter to populate the depreciation proposal. If i remove this filter then system populate line for one group which have prior year acquisitions. And shows empty line for the other group.

    On your suggestion, I made the comparison of configuration for both asset group. I am sharing the comparison details can you please look into it and can suggest me what i have to change or have to check any other thing to make the depreciation Proposal functional.

    Hi MuhammadFaisal,

    Can you test what effect the removal of the calendar in the value model has? Everything else looks ok.

    What I do not understand is why the proposal is working for a fixed asset that has no depreciation periods specified. Do you have at least a value in the remaining depreciation periods field?
