How to add Reporting currency exchange rate type in ledger

Kindly assist.

How I can update the Reporting currency exchange rate type in Ledger Setup? It seems disabled even with the System Admin role.

Hi Ramit Paul,

If both accounting and reporting currency is same in the legal entity, then this 'Reporting currency exchange rate type' field will be automatically non-editable.

As I can see CZK is same using as accounting and reporting currency as shown in your screen shot. The reason being; ERP will validate and display same currency in reporting, if the base currency is selected same as reporting currency.

If base currency and reporting currency is different, then only you will be able to select reporting currency exchange rate type. Let's take an example below where in 1st screen shot, both accounting and reporting currency is same.

In below screen shot, you can see accounting and reporting currency are different. So, we are able to select 'Reporting currency exchange rate type' to display the corresponding transaction values in a different reporting currency based on the exchange rate type selected.

A reporting exchange rate type can only be set if

1. The reporting currency is set.

2. And it's different than the accounting currency.

Can't I change the "Accounting currency" and "Reporting currency" once it is setup? In my case it is disabled.

Hi Ramit Paul,

You cannot change the accounting and reporting currency in Ledger form once this is set and transactions are recorded in ERP.

I have further checked the link shared by Andrew Xu and it seems this functionality is deprecated as discussed in this link.

Not sure if you can do this with the help of a developer!! However; please check first the impact in Development or in UAT environment for this type of update in Ledger form before applying anything in Production.

Hi Ramit,

If the accounting and reporting currencies are identical you don't need a reporting currency exchange rate.

What for?

If you want to simulate financial results by using different exchange rates then use the 'new' cost accounting module.
