Ax 2012 annual payment for license. Must I continue paying?

Hi,

As you know the end life cycle of AX 2012 is over. Each year we pay to Microsoft via our local partner a fee for a percetange of the license. We plan to move to cloud in two years. I wonder if we still have to pay that fee or it is not necessary? I found some informations but they are not fully clear for me.
