Clarification on Power Platform Licensing VS Dynamics 365 Business Central Power App Licensing

Hello,

Our company is currently using Dynamics 365 Business Central for Sales, Finance, and Parts Center Operations.

Alongside Business Central, we also have  access to Power App, Power Automate,  it seems that access to Power Apps may be bundled within that package.

The key question is whether this bundled license is sufficient for our production environment, or if we require a separate premium license to fully utilize Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Dataverse connectors, and SQL connectors.

I also went through the document but could not conclude anything.

Could you please clarify the capabilities included with the power platform bundled license? Specifically, can we develop and release apps to users under this license, or would a separate premium license be necessary?

    Hello,
The bundled/seeded Power Apps and Power Automate rights are fine for basic Microsoft 365/Dynamics extensions with standard connectors, but they are not enough for full production apps/flows that use premium connectors like Dataverse, SQL, custom connectors, or on-prem gateway; and the Dataverse service you see in admin center is only limited use, not a general right to build standalone custom apps. So for a real production solution shared to users and using those premium pieces, you should assume separate premium licensing is required. Power BI is licensed separately as well.

For Business Central and Power BI, every user will require at least a PBI-Pro license:

Power Platform access bundled with Business Central is LIMITED — it is not a full Power Apps / Power Automate license.

As a reply to , the Power BI Free license will not work for the BC-PBI reports. For those a minimum PBI-PRO is required!
