Hi All

I tried to export transactions from a GL account, but encountered the following error message

Could not export the form: " , hexadecimal value 0x1F, is an invalid character.

Anyone see this error message before and any suggestions on how to fix it?  Thanks

Thanks for the reply Mohana.  Does it mean the error need to be fixed from the back end by using codes?  Is there any way I can fix this from the front end?  I don't quite understand why NAV would allow these transactions been posted in the first place

    Gordy,

We normally see this error normally if there is any invalid character or any special characters, try to check for any special or invalid characters in GL transactions.

    Thanks

    RE: Export GL transactions error

    Hi,

Mostly, these of kind of issues happens because of the description being copied from external files or applications and stored in NAV.  Most users try copy and paste from external systems into NAV and these special characters come from these kind of actions.  You need to identify fine those special characters.

    Best Regards,

By viewing the transactions, I don't see any strange characters there.  I guess this type of error can't really resolve from the front end?!

Check if there is any special characters available. This mainly happen when you copy a cell in excel and then directly paste it in NAV. Blank space in Excel create problems in NAV most of the time.

Check the Amount.. whther contains comma (,) or any other special characters.

    RE: Export GL transactions error

Thanks everyone, I've identified the strange characters by testing each transaction (as there's not that many transactions).  The problem was caused by the use of underscore "_"  (eg. office rent_January).  I guess unless I can use code to fix it, there's no other way I can delete or remove this transaction in the ledger from the front end, right?
